Refreshing Summer Smoothies

Smoothies are a great tasty way to get your 5 a day. Feel free to adjust the quantities suggested according to your own personal taste, this is simply a recommendation!

 

Banana and Blueberry

  • Chop up 1 banana and place into a blender
  • Add 2 handfuls of blueberries
  • Add 1 tbsp of honey (add more/less according to your taste)
  • Pour in 1 cup of milk
  • Add 2 tbsp of plain yoghurt
  • Mix in blender – stop until smooth
  • Pour into glass with ice
  • Garnish with a sprinkle of some almond flakes

 

Mango and Lime

  • Peel 1 mango and the remove stone, place the pulp into a blender
  • Squeeze in the juice of 1 lime
  • Pour in 1 cup of milk
  • Add 2 tbsp of plain yoghurt
  • Mix in blender – stop until smooth
  • Pour into glass with ice
  • Garnish with lime peel

Fruits of Forest 

  • Remove stalks/leafy greens from 75g of strawberries and place into blender
  • Place 50g of blackberries into blender
  • Place 50g of blueberries into blender
  • Add a couple of leaves of mint
  • Pour in 1 cup of milk
  • Add 2 tbsp of plain yoghurt
  • Mix in blender – stop until smooth
  • Pour into glass with ice
  • Garnish with mint leaf

Peaches and Cream

  • Peel 1 large peach and remove stone and place fruit into blender (leave one slice for garnish)
  • Peel 2 small apricots, remove stone and place into blender
  • Pour in 1/2 cup of milk
  • Add pinch of cinnamon powder
  • Mix in blender – stop until smooth
  • Pour into glass
  • Add 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream on top
  • Garnish with slice of peach and a sprinkle of cinnamon powder
